January Blog Post – Moving to our Farm and Twenty Months of Sweet Baby Levi Rhett!

Oh my Sweet Baby Levi Rhett and precious baby bear,

how we all love and adore you so!!

Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude for the twenty most joy-filled months with you here in our lives…

and how amazing that exactly one month ago (today!!)

we closed on our forever home

and farm sweet farm just (!!) in time for Christmas…

and the fact that we got to move in

and officially

“ring in the new year” here…

such a gift beyond words

and a Christmas season we will never forget!!

Your big brother Judson and puppy dog Red are your best friends in the whole wide world

and you are all living your very best country boy lives out on the farm these days!

You are the sweetest, snuggliest little country bear cub and bring us all so much joy upon joy!!

Happy 20 months, my angel baby boy!!

The Lord has led our family to our “farm sweet farm” (the “horse house” as Judson has called it since the first day we saw it!) to plant our roots and raise our sweet little country babies out on these acres upon acres of rolling hills farmland in beautiful Bostic, North Carolina!!

He is a God of the immeasurably MORE than we could ever ask, dream, or imagine… and our whole “farm story” is such a testament to that!!

We have been bursting with excitement since the Lord opened the door a couple of months ago to this incredible opportunity and I can’t believe it’s finally “officially official” - and we found our “home for Christmas” - the very best Christmas miracle and gift ever!!!

Our “farm dream” has come to fruition and we have moved to this fully functioning farm with the most precious farmhouse (with my dreamy front porch I’ve always wanted to sip my morning coffee on overlooking God’s Creation) at the end of a long shaded driveway, a barn (& multiple sheds) ready to be filled with horses (eek!!), multiple fenced-in pastures, beautiful landscaping, the most breathtaking water view, and even has a farmhouse guest house, too (come visit us)!!

God’s (!!) plans are always a THOUSAND times better than anything we could dream or come up with on our own and our whole farm journey/story has been such a testament to that these past few years as we sold everything (and left the city) to move up to my great grandparents’ old family home for this past season as we waited on the LORD to sovereignly guide us where HE wanted us all along! God gets ALL the glory in this Ephesians 3:20-21 farm story and we can’t wait to take y’all along on our newest adventure!!!!

Our kind new neighbors shared this special photo with us of our farm sweet farm from years ago and I truly can’t get over how gorgeous it looks with that mountain sunset behind it - there are just no words!! We are truly just in complete awe of the Lord that *this* is the farm He had in store for our family all along - just a total GOD story and we have seen His fingerprints every step of the way!! We are just so excited for all that HE (!!) is going to do on and has in store for these acres and acres of farm land - the best is yet to come and we can’t wait for y’all to get to follow along every step of the way!! #immeasurablymore

It has been such a dream come true moving out to the farm and, like I was telling a friend the other day, go from “chasing the dream” to finally getting to “live” the dream we have been praying for and dreaming of since before Wes and I even got married… raising our babies on a bunch of land surrounded by God’s beautiful Creation!! Boy oh boy, did the Lord come through on that prayer – abundantly more!!

We spent our “Christmas Break” (more like a Christmas sprint haha) moving to the farm and New Year’s Eve was our first night here to “ring in the new year” – what a memory!!

It brings us so much JOY watching you and your brother roaming and frolicking around the land and just getting to make the sweetest childhood memories these days – with horsies all around us, all the open fields and pastures, and old dirt roads to walk and explore on around the pond!

All I can say is… God truly does write the very best (!!) stories of all and we couldn’t have asked for, dreamed of, or imagined a more perfect place to raise our babies!!

Thank you, Jesus, for this gift beyond words!!

You are at the cutest stage right now and learning and saying so much these days!! My personal favorite is how you say “Tank uuuu” (for “thank you” haha) and the most adorable little facial expressions you make!

You LOVE your “bubba” Judson and truly just want to be with and do everything that he does

and it is the cutest thing!

I always prayed for my children to be the best of friends and it warms my heart to see y’all really starting to play together so well these days and make up all kinds of games while I’m cooking dinner or what not!

While you are into everything these days (running, climbing, exploring, you name it haha!), you are a mama’s boy through and through and loveee to be worn, snuggled, and rocked and I don’t mind one bit!! We are still nursing and it is such a gift to be able to feed you the way the Lord so beautifully designed for as long as we have – such a special bond for us both! You are healthy and happy as can be and just such a little ray of sunshine!!

We couldn’t be more grateful for this season of life and all that the Lord has blessed us with! We can’t wait to watch our little pair of #brotherbesties truly get to grow up on these 12.5 acres of farmland and have the sweetest country childhood we always dreamed of giving our babies –

such an answered prayer and immeasurably more than we could’ve asked for!!
This past month, we loved celebrating our sweetest Christmas yet (and closing on the farm just 3 days before - #illbehomeforchristmas !!),

driving to the farm the night we closed

and just taking it all in

(thank you, Jesus!),


the coziest Christmas Eve (full of Santa pancakes,

baking Santa’s cookies,

a candlelight church service, dinner with Wes’ family,

and putting our reindeer food

along with all our other traditions),

the sweetest Christmas morning ever

(and so special seeing our boys’ JOY

over seeing what Santa brought them this year!),

spent Christmas and the day after back home in Charlotte with my parents

(and Judson learned how to ride his new bike!!),

spent Christmas break painting the inside of the new house

and moving moving moving,

packing boxes upon boxes,

“ringing in the new year”

with our first night sleeping at the farm,

lawnmower rides with “Dada” around the property,

waking up to the horsies and donkeys in our backyard view (and all around us!),

exploring the beautiful dirt road trails all around our farm,

playing outside 24/7 with our baby bears,

had our first “picnic on the farm” by the pond and fishies (so special!),


soaking in the most stunning sunrises and sunsets over the land,

our first rainy day on the farm

(with all the puddle jumping and umbrella fun!), Judson thriving riding his bike down the little paved ramp part of our driveway (living his best life haha),

our first trip to Washburn’s Store (the oldest continuously running general store in all of North Carolina – right by our house!),

playing on the farm until the sun goes down,

moving our chickens to their new coop on the farm,

daily collecting eggs upon eggs,

discovering the sweetest track and playground right by our farm,

getting the homeschool room all set up and finally getting back into the swing of things there

(with our “Artic” unit this week in honor of the Winter Storm they’re calling for!),

loving our morning walks as the sun is coming up over the pond,


decorating the farmhouse for Valentine’s Day,

and truly just soaking it all in – life on the farm!!

These truly are the days, y’all!
