June Blog Post –Thirteen Months of Sweet Baby Levi Rhett

What a sweet sweet month

it has been

with our newest little ray of SONshine!!

You are a summer baby through and through

and already living your very best life out having

so much fun in the sun this year

and it has already been

the sweetest summer

of my life yet!!

Thirteen months with you here in our arms

and we truly can’t imagine life without you…

and it really does just keep on getting sweeter

and more and more fun!!

You are full of pure joy, love, and light –

and love to be loved!!

You love to nurse (such a gift!),

cuddle, snuggle (you give the BEST little “wrap your arms around my neck” hugs and open mouth kisses – be still my heart!!),

play with your big brother Judson and puppy bestie Red,

and explore any and everything!

Just like Judson, you are an outside-loving sunshine summer baby and LOVE playing in the grass, sand, and dirt… just like little country boys should!!

You are saying “mama,” “dada,” “bubba,” and “hey,” and love to wave wave wave and clap clap clap these days… and it is about the cutest thing ever!!

You continue to be the absolute sweetest baby boy and addition to our family

and we are loving this sweet summer season

with you and your big brother Judson at such fun and precious little ages this year! Last year, you were a fresh newborn and pretty much slept your whole way through it…

so in a lot of ways, this really feels like your very first summer

and I am loving experiencing it all through your precious big bright blue eyes!!

You are standing, pulling up, and cruising on everything these days and really becoming such a fun little playmate for Judson!

It continues to be such a gift watching y’all’s little “brother bestie” bond continue to grow and grow

and I couldn’t be more grateful that the Lord gave me two sons back-to-back first –

so that y’all have a built-in best friend for life!!  

We have been making so many sweet summertime memories already –

getting to celebrate both you and Judson’s birthdays with so many celebrations

(from balloons in your cribs

and beds to

fun little cakes for each of you on your actual birthdays!),

our annual Memorial Day Weekend beach trip,

taking you on your very first boatride

on the intracoastal waterway

(you loved it

and napped on mama, too!),

taking you and your brother to make “birthday bears” at Build-a-Bear,

having a summer picnic out on our farm sweet farm to welcome in summer

(and see all of “Dada’s” hard work bush-hogging the property!),

finishing out Judson’s

very first T-Ball Season

(you were the best “baseball baby” cheering him on from the stands with mama hehe),

lots of summer playdates with friends,

watching “Dada” preach a sweet backyard family wedding and

having cousins in town to visit,

joining a beautiful local pool for the summer season

(and spending so many days and evenings there already!),

backyard inflatable pool fun,

celebrating mama’s birthday with a fun weekend getaway up to the NC mountains

(and a fun pool day at the Biltmore Forest Country Club thanks to my sweet parents!),

Father’s Day crafting

and day-of fun

and visiting with my family

back home in Charlotte,

harvesting lots of vegetables and flowers from our garden already,

small town splash pad fun,

swim lessons for Judson (SO proud of our new little swimmer!)

with the wonderful Ms. Jenny (who we all LOVED),

daily morning jogs and nature walks,

and a trip to Strawberry Hill USA to welcome in the official start to summer

and peach season!!

This has been such a joy-filled month for our family as we welcome in sweet summertime –

our very favorite season of all!

We are loving this sweet slow simple summertime so much and have lots of exciting things ahead we are looking forward to as well –

from our upcoming beach trips to lots of exciting things to come out on our farm sweet farm!!

Full hands and fuller hearts these days and so grateful to the Lord for this family of ours and all that He has in store ahead!!

And happy happy birthday (on May 27th... just 5 days after Sweet Baby Levi Rhett's birthday!) to my precious angel firstborn country boy sweetie pie who first made me a mama!!!

My sweet little Judson… you truly are the greatest gift and have a heart of pure gold!! You are four whole years old today and we love watching you grow into exactly who God created you to be!!! My brave, strong, kind, caring, compassionate, creative, loving firstborn SONshine and love of my life (who says he wants to “marry mama” one day)!!!

You have absolutely thrived (!!) as a big brother this whole year and adore your “baby bubba” Levi Rhett more than anything in the world!!

You are a country boy through and through and spend all of your days outside - playing, exploring, and diggin’ in the dirt… like little boys should!!!

This song “Dirt Turns to Gold” is your favorite song and the one you ask us to play for you on repeat (just ask Wes haha - it will for sure be the #1 on our Spotify this year) - because all you talk about these days is wanting to “help dada build mama’s farmhouse” out on our land and farm sweet farm - be still my heart!!!

And in your adorable little country accent say - “Out where dirt…. turns to gold!!” You are into allllll things building these days and tell me daily that you want to be a “daddy builder farmer” (aka a daddy who builds things and a farmer) when you grow up… and I pray I never forget these precious days with you so little and all your dreams!!!

I will always remember you this way - with your adoring eyes and smile of pure sugar and always picking wildflowers for mama (see pic number four hehe)!!

You love others so deeply, care for your friends and family, love to create and learn, have fallen in love (!!) with baseball this year (just like “Dada”), and love learning and talking about Jesus more than anything!!! Happy happy birthday my angel baby!!!
