My Name is Emily Mabry

 

I have been dreaming and praying about this little idea of mine for a good while now... and it is so exciting that I have now been able to start my own personal business -

Emily Mabry Creative!

Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved taking pictures of "pretty things" and doing arts and crafts - not to mention, trying to sell all of my "new creations" in front of our yard to neighbors and cars passing-by!

 

You could say I have had a heart for this type of thing for a while now...

​

A lover of all things beautiful and joyful, I decided to start this little business as a way to help others see the beauty and joy of life through photography, writing, design,

and all things creative! 

​

The mission behind Emily Mabry Creative is to help others see the beauty and joy in their own lives, too. For as long as I can remember, my mom would remind me of Philippians 4:8 when I needed encouragement, and it is a verse I have clung to no matter what life has thrown my way. 

​

"Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy -

think about such things." (Philippians 4:8).

Whether you need someone to take photos of you and your loved ones, a beautiful set of handmade cards to give to others, a custom piece of artwork for your home or someone you love, or anything design-related for a small business or upcoming event -

Now for a little bit about me...

​

I graduated from Clemson University in May of 2016 with my degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. I taught Kindergarten and Pre-K at a school for under-resourced students in the Greenville/Spartanburg area and loved getting to teach my little ones the importance of choosing joy and developing strong morals and characters, while becoming the unique person

God developed each of them to be.

After my first year of teaching, I spent that following summer overseas in Jinja, Uganda working with a Christian ministry that served vulnerable and abandoned women and children. I absolutely fell in love with the people there, and ended up committing to come back after I finished my second year of teaching. Almost immediately after returning from my first trip to Uganda, I ended up meeting the love of my life (and now husband) - Wesley Mabry. We dated throughout that school year and got engaged (7 months after we met!) shortly before I left to go back to Uganda to serve that following summer/fall. I was working in the preschool classrooms with amazing local teachers there and loved getting to be back with my precious students from the previous summer. But more than anything, I loved developing relationships with the families of my students, and realized my calling for encouraging and coming alongside others in difficult situations. When I got back from Uganda, I started a little business called “Light to the Lambs” as a way to create and sell artwork and

handmade greeting cards while giving half of all profit back to Uganda.

 

On March 30, 2019, I married my sweet husband and it was the most beautiful day of our lives! Wesley has been my biggest cheerleader from day one - whether it was my decision to go overseas to Uganda, start “Light to the Lambs” as a way to give back, and most recently, to create my own new business - called “Emily Mabry Creative.” And now, we just recently welcomed our sweet baby boy - Judson Carpenter Mabry - into the world on May 27, 2021! Judson is a bundle of joy and has changed our lives in the very best way - we love him so much!

 

Wes recently transitioned to working full-time as the college pastor at our church and this business has been such a blessing to us in allowing me to still provide for my sweet family while also getting to stay home and take care of sweet baby Judson!

Through starting "Light to the Lambs," not only did I realize how much I loved creating encouraging art and greeting cards for others, but I also discovered my niche and love for encouraging others through lettering art, writing, social media, design, photography, and all things creative! And boom... the idea of Emily Mabry Creative was born! 

 

The dream and heart behind this business is to encourage others to see the beauty and joy of life all around us through custom lettering art, cards, design, photography and all things creative! I am so grateful for all of you who follow along and support this small business of mine - it means more than you will ever know!
