True story… within minutes after Judson was born, I apparently looked at my sweet husband, Wes, and said - “I could do this ten more times” - but really y’all, being a mommy is the greatest gift in the whole wide world and I can’t even believe that sweet Judson Carpenter Mabry is ours! Thank you Jesus for this sweet and cuddly little baby boy that we get to love for all of our days!
And on that note… our little cutie is officially ONE MONTH OLD today and my little mama’s heart can hardly believe it! This has, hands down, been the sweetest and most joy-filled month of our lives and I feel blessed beyond words by our precious angel baby boy!
We are so in love with our sweet angel baby boy and so thankful that our friend, Emily Moncus, was able to capture the most precious newborn studio photos for us!
Just gonna leave these right here for y’all… my heart is officially a PUDDLE!!!
“May the Lord bless you and keep you; May the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; May the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” // Numbers 6:24-26
I find myself praising Jesus constantly for the sweetest little bundle of joy and blessing of peace! These simple white newborn photos may be my very favorite of all – so simple and sweet!
So much love in my heart for this precious little child of God that we have been given to steward and raise up! Praying that he always knows just how loved he is by his earthly parents, but even more so by His Heavenly Father!
Here on the EMC blog, I wanted to start a habit of reflecting on every month of Judson’s first year of life – so this will be my very first one! I plan to share special memories, lots of photos (of course), and sweet thoughts along the way!
A couple weeks back, I shared a little blog post covering sweet parts of Judson’s birth story and the very first 2 weeks of having him here in our arms! If you haven’t already, you can go check it out and read that blog post here:
So for this particular “one month old” blog post, I’ll be covering the remainder of sweet baby Judson’s very first month of life!
Life with baby Judson has been the absolute sweetest and most fun time of our lives! He is the most happy, content, and chill little baby and wants to be cuddled 24/7 – which is my very favorite thing!!
My mom said she had never seen a baby who “loves to be loved” as much as our little baby boy, and I thought that was such a good way of describing him! Judson loves to be held close to your chest and just wants to be loved – it’s as simple as that! And the sweetest part is, I think Jesus knew that I needed a little cuddle bug as my first born – because there is NOTHING I love more than sitting with my little baby hours upon hours with him snuggling up against my chest after nursing sessions. Truly my version of heaven on earth!
I celebrated my 27th birthday on June 14th (just 2ish weeks ago) and it was – hands down - my favorite birthday yet! My day was full of newborn snuggles and all of the lovin’ from all of my sweet boys!
Our sweet friend (who just so happens to be a photographer), Hannah Obremskey, surprised us and sent us our entire newborn nursery session gallery to us for my birthday!
We are so thankful for the way Hannah was able to so perfectly capture this precious newborn season for us with our sweet baby Judson!
We will cherish these photos forever and are so thankful for how Hannah captures so many special seasons for us – from my EMC branding photos, to our gender reveal photos, and now, our newborn nursery photos!
And I also wanted to thank all of YOU on my EMC page for all of the sweet messages, birthday treats, and kind words! Year 27 is already off to the very best start and I have my greatest gift of all from Jesus in my angel baby boy – Judson Carpenter Mabry!
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” // James 1:17
Thank you Jesus for the very best birthday gift this year!
And on my birthday, we ended up having the most simple and sweet backyard birthday dinner there ever was – and I wouldn’t have traded it for anything in the world!
My mom came down to spend the day with us and cooked a birthday dinner and funfetti cake (a Carpenter birthday tradition) for us – since we didn’t want to leave the house with a newborn quite yet!
It was by FAR the most special birthday yet and I loved spending it with my sweet little family and precious baby Judson!
And speaking of my mom.. my amazing mama (Judson’s “Nana”) came into town and stayed with baby Judson, Wes, and me after we first got home from the hospital - and was such a blessing beyond words!
She did loads upon loads of laundry, vacuumed the house, cooked yummy and healthy meals, helped me figure out the whole breastfeeding thing (which let me tell you - was a journey!! but is now my most favorite thing - all glory goes to God) and cleaned more dishes than I could count.
She got as many “baby Judson snuggles” in as she could get (he truly is such a cuddle bug) so I could shower, take a nap, and just get to simply enjoy this new transition into motherhood and being Judson’s mommy!
I could never say “thank you” enough for all of the ways my sweet mom blessed us, but I’m so thankful Hannah (the photographer) was able to capture these precious and timeless photos of her while she was here staying with us!!
I love you so much, mom, and hope and pray I can be half the amazing, caring, and selfless mother to Judson that you have been to your daughters!
You are so loved, cherished, and appreciated and everything I hope to be and more!
And later that week, we also got to celebrate my amazing husband – Wes – on his very first Father’s Day!
I dressed baby Judson in the cutest little “first Father’s Day” outfit (and little converse shoes that were entirely too big for him haha) – and it was the best (linked his cute little outfit below)!
I have loved every second of watching Wes be the best daddy to our sweet baby Judson and have truly never loved him more! I am so excited to watch him thrive in his new role as the full-time college pastor at our church – Boiling Springs First Baptist Church - later this month and have never been so proud of him for following Jesus, leading our family so well, and being obedient to His calling from the Lord!
You are an amazing husband and now father, Wes, and I can’t wait for baby Judson to get to look up to you for all the days of his life! You put Jesus first in all that you do and selflessly care for your family day in and day out! Judson is one lucky little boy to have you as his role model (and I’m obviously one lucky wife to get to do this life and ministry with you for all of my days)! We love you so much!
“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.” // Psalm 127:3-5
And thank you to Hannah and Emily – the most amazing local photographers - for capturing these precious photos of my sweet boys - I will treasure and cherish these forever!

Now onto some sweet photo memories over these past 2 weeks of life with our sweet baby Judson (since my last blog post)… precious memories and milestones that I hope and pray I will always remember!
Judson love love LOVES bath time with daddy! We joke that Wes is the “bath master,” because Judson loves it when Wes holds him under the running warm water and even coos sometimes – it’s the cutest thing!
Judson doesn’t always love getting his diaper changed – but it has gotten better ever since we started using a “wipe warmer” – and now he doesn’t hate it so much (linked below)!!
On my birthday (and his very first day back at work after staying home with us after Judson’s birth), Wes surprised me with my favorite Starbucks iced coffee, breakfast sandwich, flowers, and birthday cards from both him AND baby Judson!
It was the cutest thing to see the card “from Judson” that he had addressed to “Mommy,” and this may have been my favorite birthday surprise of all! I am so beyond blessed by my precious husband and the thoughtful ways he goes above and beyond to make me feel loved and appreciated – not only on my birthday, but every day of the year!
We have been LOVING going on walks with our Mockingbird stroller! I have linked our stroller and lots of our favorite stroller accessories over on my LTKit page here: https://www.liketoknow.it/ltk/1KLwjNeCGty01lK86uuGBS
Baby Judson loves to go on stroller rides in his baby carriage around the neighborhood and sweet Red has been SUCH a good boy and walked so well with the stroller – which I have been super-duper thankful for!
One of my new favorite things is seeing Judson’s little face light up whenever his daddy gets home from work – cuteness overload!!
Baby Judson looks so stinkin’ adorable in these little koala bear slippers – which are SO fitting since he is such a precious little koala bear cuddler!!
Judson loves to be carried in a baby wrap when we go on evening strolls, too!
His little “milk drunk” smile may be my favorite thing ever!!
I love coming home from walks to see the adorable baby boy wreath and yard flag that my parents and Wes’ parents gave us to put up for baby Judson – too cute!
Judson looking so handsome in his 3-week-old photo!
He loves when daddy plays with him and talks to him after changing his diaper!
Red and Judson... the best of buds!
I took Judson in the car (by myself!! – something I had been too scared to do before haha) for the very first time to go get Starbucks – and it went really well! Linking some of our favorite carride essentials below:
Judson held his head up all the way during tummy time!! He was so proud of himself!
He loves tummy time during his “awake hours,” and we have loved trying so many different little tummy time toys we were given as the sweetest baby shower gifts!
We have been LOVING this adorable (& handy!!) new “Wildbird” ring sling that I received as a birthday present the other week - been wearing it non-stop! Baby Judson loves to be carried in it (my little koala bear 🐨) while I can get things done around the house! Here is a link to it:
This past week, we took sweet baby Judson on our first big family outing to downtown Greenville, SC – the city where Wes and I met, dated, and fell in love!
We even ate lunch (outside) at Cantina 76 – the restaurant where Wes took me out on our very first date after meeting at a church dance! It was such a fun afternoon with my boys!
Our precious neighbors and friends, Ellen and Taylor, gifted us this beautiful Ephesians 2:10 muslin blanket after their trip to Bermuda – so of course we had to use it for our bright blue-eyed baby boy’s 4-week-old photo-op! Such a thoughtful and meaningful gift!
Judson loves to grab my fingers with his tiny little hands, and it is one of my new favorite things! So so sweet!
We have loved going walking at the Hub City Rail Trail (here in Spartanburg) when it gets cooler at night!
Our new summertime “go-to” outing (with Sonic slushees, of course)!!
Judson loves bible story time with mommy! I love getting to read to him out of the Jesus Storybook Bible – such sweet readings and pictures, too!
I have linked some of our story time favorites here:
Baby Judson received the sweetest little gift in the mail from YMA Camp Thunderbird – the camp where I grew up going and was a counselor during my college years! Love love love this adorable little “future thunderbird camper” baby tee – and can’t wait for Judson to grow into it as he gets bigger!
Once again, Judson LOVES bath time with his daddy – and especially loves being wrapped up in his giant elephant hood towel at the end so he can get nice, warm and cozy! Linking some more of our “bath time favorites” here: https://www.liketoknow.it/ltk/2BVtaj15LyQNL0cEp8482D
And last but not least…Judson’s one month old photo!!
I can hardly believe that he is already a month old – but man, it sure has been the sweetest month of our lives and we are so beyond smitten and in love with our angel baby boy!!
Thank you Jesus for blessing us with the most happy and content little baby boy who has brought so much joy upon joy to our lives already! These truly are “the days,” and we are soaking in every single moment!
