Our sweet boy is 15 months old today, y’all, and it’s always such a joy getting to use this little “monthly mile marker” to blog about family life with our sweet Judson –
truly the joy of our lives!!
We are having SO much fun with him these days –
as he is walking, giggling, playing, talking, and exploring everywhere he goes!
This age is really special because he is still our sweet snuggly baby
when he wants to cuddle, and when he is up and ready to play…
he is ALL BOY and always wants to be barefoot, in a diaper, and playing outside in the sticks and mud
(which I love so much)
In Judson’s current favorite book, “Found” (it’s a children’s book about Psalm 23),
we read about how God helps us be strong and brave…and let me tell you, this baby boy is tough as NAILS y’all! He had his first big “boo boo” the other evening on his forehead -
(and has been wearing his cutie little Band-Aid since) -
and literally has been just happy and giggling ever since - unphased lol!! Like I always say, he is ALL BOY -
but man, God really answered my prayer for him to be “fearless” -
based off of his life verse - “Fear not for I have redeemed you, I have called you by name, you are mine.” // Isaiah 43:1
I am always praying for this precious little soul that God has entrusted Wes and I to raise up for His glory –
and praying that he will grow up to be a strong, compassionate, kind, brave, and fearless man of God
– just like his “Dada!”
This has been such a fun month for us as we have been soaking in the end of sweet summertime and creating all kinds of family memories.
We went to the Panther’s Training Camp (Judson loved watching all of the Panther’s practicing out on the fields,
and going down the big blow-up slide, too!),
witnessed even more gorgeous summer sunsets and rainbows,
went on a little mountain weekend getaway up to Asheville
for a high school friend’s wedding,
have seen many deer all over our yard and neighborhood this time of year,
went on lots of park and
caught up on all kinds of EMC “happy art" orders,
went to do our annual apple-picking up at Skytop Apple Orchard
(and spent the last week baking lots of apple goodies hehe),
took Judson on his very first trip to Tweetsie Railroad (a very special place that my Mamaw and Papaw used to take me a little girl), and more!
I am so grateful for all of the sweet end-of-summer memories we have been making as a little family and am so excited for all the fun fall memories to come!
…Now onto a little more detail on this past month and some sweet memories we have been soaking in and that I want to bottle up and remember forever!!
To start off this month, we took our future little Carolina Panther
to the Panthers Training Camp at Wofford College (in our hometown).
Judson had the best time watching all of the players
and getting to go down the big “bouncy slide” with “Dada,” too!
Such a fun day!
Another sweet memory was spending one Friday evening this month watching the most stunning sunset over our little town!
And then we came home to Judson “reading us” his favorite Psalm 23 story for us - he loves the little lambs & my heart can’t handle it! Thank you, Jesus, for our little lamb in Judson and for being OUR Good Shepherd!!!
Summer nights like these, I will treasure in my heart forever and ever! #thankyoujesus (Click here to see a little video clip I put together of this magical evening!!)
It was such a JOY getting to celebrate one of my dear high school friends, Rory, and Thomas at the most gorgeous Asheville wedding!
So very in love with my forever wedding date (mom and dad all dressed up!!!) -
and such a gift getting to catch up with some old high school friends, too!
Thankful for the sweetest little weekend getaway in Asheville -
sunrise nap (for Judson) & chasing some gorgeous mountain views with my boys over the Blue Ridge Mountains -
and the view of the sun coming up over the clouds was absolutely breathtaking!! (Click here to see a little video clip I put together of the most stunning mountain views!)
It really has been so stinkin’ special seeing the most unbelievable deer sightings the past couple of weeks
(in our own backyard, front yard, neighborhood, and out and about!!),
and such special memories for our little family -
especially seeing the same sweetest mama deer and her two baby deer so many times!!
“It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he causes me to stand on the heights.” // Psalm 18:30
And this month has been full of all the normal shenanigans -
lots of evening walks,
bathtime and
bedtime fun & giggles,
neighborhood walks and playground/park visits (lots!),
sunset country drives,
& a new John Deere hat for Judson (thanks to Wes’ trip to Tractor Supply hehe to get corn for the deer)!
Last weekend, we spent our Friday “famday” at Skytop Orchard with the “apple of our eye!”
We learned that sweet Judson is a big fan of apples (& apple donuts hehe)!!
He had the best time walking around the orchard,
picking apples with mama & dada
(and was so proud of himself for putting them in the bag!),
What a sweet memory getting to continue our annual apple orchard tradition
- and then we stopped to get dinner at one of our favorite mountain spots,
The Moose Café, on our way back home!
Judson was a big fan of the giant biscuits and the big stuffed “Mr. Moose” as we were walking out!
Too cute!
And also last weekend, it was the sweetest memory taking Judson on his very first trip to Tweetsie Railroad -
a place where my Mamaw and Papaw used to always take me as a little girl
(and I know they were smiling down from heaven, seeing Judson taking it all in)!
It brought back so many memories and was so special getting to recreate new ones with our own baby boy!!
Judson’s very first trip to Tweetsie –
and it was just as special as I remember as a little girl going with my family!
And earlier this week on my morning neighborhood run, we got to see lots of baby goats - and Judson was in heaven!!!
He loves animals so much and this made his whole day!! (Click here to see a video of all of the cute goats Judson got to see while on our jog!!)
We have been having so much fun this week with all the apple recipes using our recent Skytop Orchard bounty -
the first apple recipe was a cast iron apple crisp (a huge hit around our household in the mornings), and then a homemade apple pie next - Judson had so much fun helping (& snacking) as we made it hehe!
Life is a gift, and the giver is good!
Thank you, Jesus, for this simple and sweet life with my boys!
And in other family news - I am officially just over halfway finished with my final grad school internship to complete my Master’s Degree in counseling (with the most incredible supervisor to learn from!) - and it was so so sweet how Jesus had the most gorgeous rainbow waiting for me as I left my internship that evening!
We serve such a kind and loving Father, and I have learned and seen SO much of His character during this season loving His children, and for that I will always be grateful!!
“For every one of God’s promises is “Yes” in him. Therefore, through him we also say “Amen” to the glory of God.” // 2 Corinthians 1:20
This has been one crazy busy season for our family - but we are so grateful for all that God has called us to and all that He is doing!! I am also so incredibly grateful for my sweet mama who watches Judson on my “internship days” so that this is possible,
and just have a whole whole lot to be grateful for – God has been very good to us!
And onto a little EMC note, gosh… what an exciting month it’s been for EMC!!! Lots of big shipping days (woohoo!) with my baby bestie and, man, Wes has been the best hubby and cheerleader with all things EMC as we have spent lots of late nights the past few weeks packing orders - and turned it into our version of a date night hehe - but really -
just really grateful for this small business that allows me to stay at home with my baby boy and support my little family at the same time - such a blessing and gift that I definitely do not take for granted!!
This special small business, Emily Mabry Creative, means the world to our family!! My boys are my biggest cheerleaders (the “dream team”) behind all things EMC and I’m just so proud of this little life we’re building together!!
It’s been a super sweet month full of catching up on lots of EMC orders (just last Friday we packed up and delivered my largest order yet - 700+ cards, y’all 💌🤯 !!) Thank you, Lord!

Can’t wait to continue helping y’all spread lots and lots of light, love, beauty, and JOY through EMC “happy art” designs!!
So grateful for what the Lord has entrusted me with - as a wife, a mommy, and a small business owner! All glory to God - the one behind, before, and present in and through it all!!
